ORIGIN/MEANING
Lapay-Bantigue was created by Lola Felisa, this
dance originated from Bantigue, Masbate city.
This folk dance was constructed by gracefully
imitating the movements of a seagull.

It's called Lapay-Bantigue due to Bantigue being


a place where a lot of Lapay(seagulls) gather.
CATEGORY/CLASSIFICATION
Lapay Bantigue is a mimetic dance that refers
to lapay or sea gulls. It copies the movements of
the gulls like overly bending back till the head
is near the floor.

It is lowland Chrsitian dance because it is


influenced by Hispanic and European culture.
NATURE OF MOVEMENTS
The nature of movement of Lapay
Bantigue is moderate. It is moderate
because it has an average intensity of
movements and it is performed in a
medium pace style of dance
COSTUMES/ATTIRES
• Baro at saya for female
• Camisa de chino and pants for
male
FORMATION
• it has the characteristics of the
SET formation in which the
partners always face each other or
if not, they are standing side by
side.
