3. Division of Fractions
To divide whole numbers and Example:
fractions 2 5 3
STEPS: 5  
3 1 2
1. the whole numbers are
(5  3)
always treated as fractions with 
the denominator of 1. (1 2)
2. invert the divisor (change the 15
divisor to its reciprocal); 
3. and multiply.

3. Division of Fractions
To divide mixed numbers,
we always change the
mixed numbers to improper
fraction then proceed as in
division of common
fractions.
CHANGING FRACTION TO
DECIMAL AND PERCENT
AND VICE VERSA
To reduce fractions to decimal, we simply
perform division.
Example:
Change 3/4 to decimal
To convert fractions to Example:
percent,
5
STEPS:
1. change the fraction to 12
decimal (by performing
= 5 ÷ 12
division)
2. and move the decimal = .41666
point two (2) places to the =41.67 %
right,
3. then affix the percent
sign.
To convert decimal Example:
to percent, we move .75= 75 %
the decimal point two 2.00 = 200%
places to the right
.0065= .65%
and affix the percent
sign (%).
To convert percent to Example:
fraction, 14%= 14 =.14
STEPS 14

1. we first change 100
percent to decimal, 7

2. then change the 50
decimal to fraction and 375%= 375 =.375
3. reduce to lowest 375 3
 
terms. 1000 8
