without configuring the session.
This can either be done by doing:

File -> Connect and select the “Quick Connect” button.

Enter the protocol, server name and this time do enter
the username.
Features
1). Multiple windows:
A feature of Secure CRT when opening multiple
windows is that they can either be opened in different
windows or under the same window but on different
tabs. This can either be done by:
1. File -> Connect in Tab or

2. File -> Connect and mark the “Open in a tab” box,

then proceed as normal.

:Note that another tab will show next to the current

session.
2). Session Login: This feature will allow the user to
log all the commands and outputs, this is helpful for
later review or for training purposes.

To enable logging: File -> Log Session.

A “Select Log File” window
will pop-up, select the target
directory, enter the filename
and click Save.
To confirm that the session
is logging click on File and
note that there is a check
mark beside the Log.
To disable logging:
Do File -> Log
Session, the check
mark will then
disappear .
3) SFTP Transfer:
When connecting to a
server using SSH
protocol, you can
transfer files to your
computer without the
need of an FTP
program, Secure CRT
offers an SFTP transfer.
Do File -> Connect
SFTP tab
Since you are
already connected
to the server there
is no need to enter
a username and
password again.
Note that the
SFTP session will
show as a tab
Personalization
1). Change screen color
 Go to Options -> Session Options

On Session
Options window
expand Terminal
and select
Appearance
There are 2
options, select one
of the pre-designed
colour schemes:
Or create a new
one by clicking on
New. Enter Colour
scheme name and
click Enter
On the Colour Scheme window select
the attribute of the letter and
foreground and background colours.
In this example a shade of green is
selected as a background and black
will be the default foreground. Once
colour is selected click OK.
Once the colours are selected
click OK and then click OK
again.
2).Change screen size
The current window size (number of rows and columns) can be viewed on
the bottom-right hand corner of the screen.

When the reports are too wide the entries will be displayed
in the following line.
To aid in viewing this better SecureCRT lets the user change the width
of the screen. To do this select Options -> Session Options. Expand
Terminal, select Emulation and change the Logical column size to
desired width. Click OK.
Notice that the information can be
viewed on a single line which makes it
easier for reading. Also notice that the
bottom-right hand corner now
displays the new column setting.
 3). Change buffer size:

This setting is very useful when reading long files

or need to scroll up to compare previous output
in the same screen. If the buffer is not big enough
all previous display data will be lost and will be
accessible for viewing unless the session is being
logged. Notice the scroll bar on the right-hand
side, that space is all you have available to go
back.
To change the buffer
settings select Options ->
Session Options, expand
Terminal and select
Emulation. Change the
Scroll back buffer to desired
value and click OK.

Note : that the scrollbar on the
right is now very small and see
all the space available to scroll
up and view previous output.
