Adding transitions and effects
This is when you can start to make your video your own by adding transitions and effects.
Transitions: The transitions can be found in the effects box next to the time lime.
Click on Video Transitions and a list will appear.
Select the fade you want to use and drag it so it covers the cut between your footage.
Basic effects:
Effects: The effects can be found in the same box under Video Effects. To add an effect, find the one
you wish to use and drag it over the whole clip.
Basic effects:
Once your effect is on your clip you can adjust the strength of the effect by altering the levels in the Effect
control panal which is located behind your source panel.
Most used effects:
Clip speed change: Right click the sequence you wish to change and a panel will appear – scroll down to find
speed duration; another box will appear – change the speed by dragging the numbers to either side (above
100% speeds the clip up / below 100% speeds the clip down)
• In you spare time please come to the computer rooms or the SLT and practice
using the software
• It is THIS software you will be using to edit ALL your productions – NOT
iMovie or Windows Movie Maker or any other editing software you may have
at home. If you do NOT have Premier Pro you will edit ALL your work at college
