A. Content Standard
The learner demonstrates an understanding of the different elements of
art, how they are seen in the everyday, and how they create meanings.
B. Performance Standard
The learner evaluates the different elements seen in everyday objects and
their meaning.
C. Learning Competency
Identifies different elements and principles of organization in the arts, its
potential to express one’s feeling and ideas, and to create meaning in everyday

expressing the author's imaginative or
technical skill, intended to be appreciated

Lines and curves are marks that span a


distance between two points.
As an element of visual art, line is the use
of various marks, outlines, and implied
lines in artworks and design.

COLOR

Color is produced when light, striking an


object, is reflected back to the eye.
There are 3 properties to color:
Hue
Intensity
Value

COLOR

Hue – the name given to a color.


Intensity – the vividness of a color. How
‘colorful’ it is.
Value – how light or dark a color is.
Shade and tint refer to value changes in color.
Shade – adding black to a color.
Tint – adding white to a color.

Texture is the surface quality of a shape.


It can be rough, smooth, soft, hard,
glossy, etc.
It can be physical (tactile), or visual.

particular purpose.
It includes the background, foreground,
and middle ground.
It refers to the distances or area(s)
around, between, and within objects.

There are two kinds of space:


Negative Space – area between, around,
through, and within an object.
Positive Space – area occupied by an object
and/or form.
