Contingency Planning During COVID-19 Lock-down Situation in
Bangladesh
Context
• COVID-19 started hitting Bangladesh from
March, 2020.
• Government closed all shopping malls from
March 25th, 2020.
• Government declared nationwide closed-down of
all organizations & lockdown from 26th March,
2020 – 4th April, 2020.
• The close-down and lockdown has been extended
to 25th April, 2020 till now with 3 extensions.
• Only Pharmacy, Hospital, Kitchen store &
Grocery Stores are out of this scope.
• Nokia Sales & activation plummeted as a result .
Project Pharmacy
• In order to revive the sales we decided to place
product in Pharmacy all around the country.

• During this close-down pharmacies are out of

scope and remains open.

• We have started to place products in pharmacies

from 11th April, 2020.

* The Law of Bangladesh does not allow pharmacies to sell anything other than medicine, non-perishable food and toiletries. So the response from owners are poor so far. Which is
the reason for MTD low numbers. But, due to the current situation many owners are coming forward to accept our proposal. We expect to on-board larger number of retails in the
coming days.
