Teacher Regine
Do you know what our
next lesson is? It is all
about the mouse!

MOUSE?!
Not that mouse! The mouse I
am talking about is very
useful especially when you
are using a computer.

Can you please tell

me more about it?
A Mouse is a device that allows us
to send commands to the
computer easily. It has a long
wire that is connected to the back
of the system unit.

The moving object that we see on the

screen is called a Mouse Pointer. We can
control the movement of the mouse
pointer and it follows the directions given
by the mouse
Do you know that a mouse also
has parts just like our body?

What are those parts?

the Mouse

Track Ball

Palm rest
•Palm Rest-
This is where we
put our palm
when we are
using the mouse
•Long Wire- This is where the
signal flows to send commands to the
mouse pointer. This is attached to the
system unit.
•Track ball- This is the ball inside
the mouse . It allows the cursor to
move around the monitor screen.
•Mouse Buttons-A mouse usually has 2
to 3 buttons and these are: the left mouse
button , middle mouse button, and the
right mouse button.
Not all computer mice have the same
form. Here are some examples of a
mouse.

Some mice have scroll wheel and

Functions of the Mouse

Aside from knowing the parts

of the mouse, we also have to
learn its different functions.
We need to learn about the
functions so that we can use the
mouse effectively.
Functions of the Mouse
When the mouse and the mouse pointer
work together , they can do four (4) things
on the screen.
1. POINTING- is moving the mouse
pointer over an object.
2. Clicking- is done by pressing the
mouse button once by pressing the left
mouse button you can select an object
on the screen.
3. Double Clicking- is done by
quickly pressing the left mouse button
twice. By double clicking, you can
open the selected object on the screen .
4. Dragging- is done by pressing the left
mouse button without releasing it, while
