ARRIVE FROM THE WAR TO
MESSINA • Don pedro returns from the war
along with Claudio, Benedick, his
bastard brother Don john and
Balthasar. Benedick and Beatrice
immediately engage in a war of
wits. Claudio confesses that he
loves hero. Don pedro offers to
disguise himself and propose to
hero.
LEONATO THROWS A PARTY
AND MASQUERADE
• leonato throws a party and a
masquerade ball to celebrate don
pedro's arrival in messina, antonio
leonato's brother, goes to tell
BALL leonato that he overheard claudio
confessing his love for hero.
DON JOHN AND HIS MEN PLAN
TO DESTROY DON PEDRO'S
PLAN • Don john tells conrade how much
he hates his brother, borachio
enters and tells them what he
overheard from don pedro and
claudio's conversation and they
decide to ruin don pedro's plan.
CLAUDIO AND HERO ARE
GOING TO GET MARRIED
AFTER 7 DAYS • at the masquerade ball, benedick
and beatrice dance together.
leonato gives permission for
claudio to marry hero, after 7 days.
don pedro calls himself a cupid and
plans to trick beatrice and
benedick fall in love with each
other.
DON JOHN AND HIS
HENCHMEN DEVISE A PLAN
• Don john and his men make a plan
to slander hero by telling claudio
that they saw her with a man a
night before their wedding.
DON PEDRO TRICKS
BENEDICK
• don pedro tricks benedick into
thinking that beatrice is in love
with him. he falls for the trap laid
by don pedro and decides to love
back beatrice.
HERO TRICKS BEATRICE
• hero tricks beatrice by praising
benedick and claiming that he
loves her. she then decides to love
him back.
THE NIGHT BEFORE THE
WEDDING : DON JOHN'S PLAN
IS SET IN MOTION
• Don john approaches claudio and
tells him that hero is a cheater and
a whore, claudio doesn't believe
him so he goes along with don
john to see for him self and sees
hero with a man.
CONRADE AND BORACHIO
GET CAUGHT
• The head watch dogberry instructs
the watchmen to keep a good
watch that night, later his
watchmen hear a drunk borachio
and conrade talking about how
they tricked claudio and slandered
hero
LEONATO DOESN'T LISTEN TO
DOGBERRY
• it was the day of the wedding,
Dogberry went to inform leonato
of what his men had heard,
however dogberry kept making
funny mistakes and leonato who
was in a hurry told him to inform
him after the wedding.
CLAUDIO SLANDERS HERO
• Claudio slanders hero in front of
everyone accusing her of being a
whore, hero faints and then is
slandered by leonato. hero then
died.
BEATRICE MAKES A REQUEST
OF BENEDICK
• Beatrice and benedick declare
their love for each other. beatrice
asks benedick to kill claudio if he
really loves her. benedick refuses.
THE TRUTH IS REVEALED
• dogberry informs leonato about
everything, leonato and benedick
accuse claudio and head to tell him
of his crime.
CLAUDIO IS GUILTY
• Claudio realises that he was tricked
and apologises to leonato. leonato
forgives him at the condition he
marries his brother's daughter, and
hangs an ephitaph on hero's grave.
he agrees.
CLAUDIO'S NEW BRIDE
• claudio hangs an epitaph on hero's
grave and then sees his brother's
daughter, his to be wife which was
shockingly hero. benedick and
beatrice confess love to each other
once again.
THE WEDDING
• claudio and hero get married,
benedick and beatrice get married.
don john is caught by guards.
