• This is my fourth year teaching third grade.
• This is my third year at FES.
• I am from New Jersey.
• I attended Coastal Carolina University.
• I am currently attending Western Governor’s University for my Master’s Degree
in Technology
Virtual Academy Expectations
Some important info from the DDTwoVA Parent/Student Contract:
Virtual Academy Expectations
• Starting November 1st, to prepare students for
future grades, they are expected to know what
assignments they need to turn in every day.
• Students need to be held accountable for their
work.
• Third grade is a big step in responsibility.
Attendance
Policy

• Students are expected to be


logged on and actively participate
• Students are expected to complete
work.
Read to Succeed Letter
• SC Department of Education passed a law stating
third grade students must be reading at a third grade
level at the end of the year. If the student does not
pass the reading section of state testing, there is the
potential they will have to attend summer school or
be retained.
• Please sign and return the copy of the letter. I will
email a new one out!
Third Grade Content
• Reading: A lot of non-fiction text
• Math: Rounding, multiplication and fractions, elapsed time
• Word Study: Wise Guide for spelling words, Red Hot Root
Words
• Writing: Opinion Writing, Personal Narratives, TDA, etc.
• Science: Earth’s materials, Matter, Electricity, Animal Habitats
• Social Studies: South Carolina History
• A LOT OF STUDYING!
Important Days
• 10/22-10/26 I will be out.
• 10/26-10/30 Red Ribbon Week
• 10/30 Book Character Day
• November 2: Item pick up
