•Handovers are analyzed by dividing it into three types:

– IntraMSS HO SR
– InterMSS HO Outgoing
– InterMSS HO Incoming

• Moreover HO failure doesn’t mean that the call is dropped

• Therefore 3 new KPIs are presented here that tell of the

dropped calls percentages during HO. They are
– IntraMSS HO_DroppedCalls%
– InterMSS HO_DroppedCalls_Outgoing%
– InterMSS HO_DroppedCalls_Incoming%

Observations & Suggestions
•Signaling Network is in very bad shape
•Tunisiana needs not only to dimension the next hop links but all the links
over all routes to ensure HLR/IN and ISUP etc signaling do not experience
any slight congestion
•200mErl rule is not followed at all
•Signaling to a NE is done with one path while the from path is different.
– Unnecessary loops-complication
– Against dimensioning
– Eating network bandwidth

Suggestions to Tunisiana Planning Team:

– To bring STPs at earliest
– Remove loops
– Increase Signaling Links
– Do dimensioning end-2-end

MSS KPIs : SMS MT Success Rate %

•New formula is introduced that consider Temporary errors as

success primarily it include those reasons of failure that could
be subscriber dependence e.g. Inbox of the sub is full to receive
any other SMS or absent subs etc.
•Onward both i.e. old and the new formula will be presented

MSS KPIs : SMS MO Success Rate %
•SMS MO success is very low
•Detailed analysis is done and the main finding is that Tunisiana network is
suffering from virus generated SMSs- detailed results are shared
•Mostly over 50% of MO SMSs are virus generated whose B number is
dummy number hence it will result into failure per current implementation
•Tunisiana is suggested for a possible easy solution: FN1927
