Collection of Data
• Data source: Both primary and secondary data will be collected for the
study.

• Primary data: The methodology for the collection of primary data would
involve interview schedules through prepared questionnaires and open
ended discussions with farmers, dealers, distributors and the retailers in
the selected area of Chapra and Gopalganj districts of Bihar.
• Separate Pre-structured questionnaire will be prepared for farmers and
dealers/distributors/retailers. Questionnaires will be consisting of both
closed-ended questions and open-ended questions.

• Secondary data: The secondary data sources would include the web
portals, different magazines, journals and reports available with the tehsil
offices, related ministries, college and University.

Sampling Procedure
o In Chapra and Gopalganj district of Bihar, a
sample of 6 blocks having highest area under
maize from all 34 blocks.
o From each selected block,4 villages will be
taken on the basis of Judgment e.g.- Highest
maize growing villages.
o Using purposive sampling, from each village,
eight potential farmers will be selected.
o From Gopalganj and Chapra districts, all
distributors and 50 retailers having highest sales
will be selected.
