Plot
Introduction: After Grandpa died, Grandma lived alone in her big house that stood on a high hill surrounded by
giant trees. Grandma was old, and she was so crippled with rheumatism she could hardly move around. But she
decided to stay in her big house even though it looks as though it was ready to collapse.
Rising Action: Grandma’s house is very old and Shan’s dad wants grandma to lives with them but she refuses
after that, Shan’s dad fixes it and grandma decides to stays in Shan family for three days only. When grandma
lives with them, she aske Shan’s dad to cut apple trees to see her house clearly through the window but Shan’s
dad refuses to cut it because that trees are his family main source of income. Two days letter apple tree was
pulled by a windstorm that make them don’t understand with that but grandma does like nothing had happened.
Climax: After apple tree was destroyed Shan’s parents ask her grandma for back to her house.
- Falling Action: One het September night thunder shook the earth and streaks of lighting cut dark sky. It was a
terrible night fierce gusts of wind came. The heavy oak trees had fallen onto the decaying house and had crashed
through it. The doorway that Mary and Shan had come through had collapse. Shan and Mary ran to tell their parents.
Resolution: After rain stopped they see their Grandma was died, pinned to the floor underneath a beam. Her
birds flew from the hollow of the oak tree. The were singing a mournful song for her and it is grandma
happiness because she had died where she wanted.

Setting of time: The story mentioned time after grandma died, in spring and summer and one hot September
night
Setting of place: the story take place in orchard at nigh hill grandma’s house, shan’s house
