Assignment 2

Basic Report writing format:

• Cover page with Student Name & Number, Unit Name & Number
• Content page or table
• Executive Summary
• Introduction
• Main body of the report covering the tasks within the assignment as
headings
• Recommendations and Conclusion
• Reference list and/or Bibliography
• Appendices (supporting information)

Compliance requirements:

• Reference your state’ s or Territories WHS/OHS legislation compliance

requirements on consultation.

• Check the Code of Practice, Guidance material information provided by

from Safe Work Australia and your State’s or Territories and regulator.

What to consider when developing your Recommendations:

• What consultation arrangement are in place and are they compliant
• What involvement of workers in safety issues are there informal/formal
• Are workers views valued
• Consultation arrangement in place but not working effectively
• Workers not always involved, and views not always considered
• What is working well in the consultation process and what isn’t

Consider:

• Management commitment and involvement in the consultation process

• Adapt a planned, systematic approach to WHS/OHS consultation
• Encourage managers, supervisors and workers/employees involvement
• Create a safety culture where H&S is part of daily business practices
• Reduce the number of incidents, injuries and illnesses by adopting a
proactive approach
• Encourage a culture of cooperation, consultation, initiative and
responsibility within the workplace.
• Continue to review and improve the consultation and communication
processes to ensure compliance with WHS/OHS legislation.
