 3.1 Past Simple

1 The form of the Past Simple is the same for all persons.

I/He/She/It/ started
You/We/They moved last week.
 Past Simple
4 The normal spelling rule is to add -ed or -d.

5 Some short verbs with only one syllable double the consonant.

6 Verbs ending in a consonant + -y change the -y to -ied.

 Past Simple
The Past Simple expresses a completed past action.

They got married in 2009.
