United States in 1912

Wrote a book entitled Quality Control

principles to the Japanese in the 1950s
and was a principal force in their quality
reorganization.
THE JURAN PHILOSOPHY
Even into this century, he continued to warn the United States
that it faces losing its status as an economic superpower unless it
improves the quality of its goods and services.
Unlike Deming, he did not propose a major cultural change in
the organization, but rather sought to improve quality by working
within the system familiar to managers.
He advocated the use of quality cost accounting and analysis to
focus attention on quality problems.
THE JURAN PHILOSOPHY

attention of top corporate managers in the
United States.

time and Zero Defects”
