Aircon Week 3
Sample Problems
• Calculate the specific volume of an air vapor mixture in m^3/kg of dry
air when the following conditions prevail:
• T=30 deg C
• W=0.015 kg/kg
• Pt=90 kPa
• A sample of air is to taken with the dry bulb temp of 30 deg and wet
bulb temp of 25 deg C. the barometric Pressure is 101 kPa. Using
steam tables and equation 2-2, 2-3, and 2-5, calculate:
• W if this air is adiabatically saturated
• H if this air is adiabatically saturated
• W of the sample using Eq. 2-5
• Ps of water vapor in the sample
• RH
• The air vapor mixture has a dry bulb temp of 30 deg C and W of
0.015. calculate the ff:
•h
• Dew point temp
• 5 kg of air/sec with initial Db temp and Wb temp of 44 deg C and 24
deg C are cooled and dehumidified so that the leaving air Of Db and
Wb temp are 14 deg C and 11 deg C.
• Total Heat removed in watts
• Sensible heat removed in watts
• Mass of water vapor condensed
• Latent heat removed in watts
• CSHF
• Mean effective surface temp
