Momentum Equation- (Impulse-Momentum Equation)

From Newton’s second law of motion, momentum equation can be written as:

  𝒚  𝒗 𝟐
Prove?

𝒙
𝒗 𝟏  𝜽

Momentum equation in any direction is:

Example (22)
A horizontal water jet hits a fixed vertical wall. The diameter of the jet is 2 cm
and its velocity is 25 m/s. Calculate force exerted on the wall.
Example (23)
Water jet that is in a horizontal plane is deflected by a 90⁰ vane. If the jet is 5
cm diameter and velocity is 10 m/s, determine the force exerted by the vane.
Example (24)
For the figure shown, a 825 N rest on a steady water jet. What is the jet
velocity?
