Singleton (2000) explains that:

“this relation covers part-whole


connections. X is a meronym of Y if

example, finger is a meronym of
hand …. A finger is a part of a
hand”
EXAMPLE:
Book and page present a
meronymy relation. We could say
that page is part of book.

2) portion- mass relation: which is unit
of measurement. Ej: drops of water

3) stuff- object: what an object is

part of shopping

5. Place-area: Oasis- desert
