Artifacts,
Architecture
and Symbols
Key to create and sustain
positive school culture
• Artifacts - an object made by a human being,
typically an item of cultural or historical interest.
• Architecture - the art or science of building;
specifically : the art or practice of designing and
building structures and especially habitable ones.
• Symbols -  a mark, sign or word that
indicates, signifies, or is understood as
representing an idea, object, or relationship.
Symbols allow people to go beyond what
is known or seen by creating linkages between
otherwise very different concepts and
experiences.
