Rather, it is believed to grow proportionately with the person's body. Soul-nature, the folks belive, means the performance of age-old spirit rituals. An adult person with a healthy dungan properly lodged in his physical body will have a bodily health and well-being, intelligence and good sense. A strong dungan is the intellectual and psychological capacity to dominate or persuade others to one's way of thinking. At death, the dungan leaves the body through the nose, eyes, ears and other body orifices and eventually goes with the air or wind through the upper regions.
