EXIM Policy-1
• IMPORT
• ® Import Permit of CITES*
• ® Export Permit of CITES by the exporting country.
• ® Incase of import of seeds for sowing or planting
purpose, an Import Permil, granted under the
Plants, Fruits and Seeds (Regulation of Import into
India) Order, 1989
• ® An Import Licence, in respect of seeds for
consumption purposes.
• EXPORT
• Export Permit of CITES", in case of wild specimens, issued only
after Import Permit has been granted by the importing country.
• No Objection Certificate (NOC)/Exemption Certificate from the
regional Deputy Director (Wildlife) in case of cultivated
specimens.
• Legal Procurement Certificate(LPC) # in respect of wild
specimens.
• A Certificate of Cultivation# in case of cultivated species.
• In the export of seeds, an Affidavit, stating that the seed is not
Breeder or Foundation or World variety seeds
• RE-EXPORT.
• In case of re-export of formulation, an Affidavit,
stating that only imported species have been
used in the manufacture of value added
formulations.
• (The term formulation includes products which
contain portions or extracts of plants in
unrecognizable and physically inseperable form)

IMPORT
Export Permit of CITES issued by the exporting
country.
In import of seeds for sowing or planting
purpose, an Import Permit, granted under the
Plants, Fruits and Seeds (Regulation of Import
into India) Order, 1989)
An Import Licence, in respect of seeds for
consumption purposes
EXPORT
• Export Permit of CITES*, in case of wild specimens.
• A No Objection Certificate (NOC)/Exemption Certificate
from the Regional Deputy Director (Wildlife) in case of
cultivated specimens.
• A Legal Procurement Certificate(LPC) # in respect of wild
specimens,
• A Certificate of Cultivation# in case of cultivated species.
• In the export of seeds, an Affidavit, stating that the seed
is not Breeder or Foundation or Wild variety seed.
• RE-EXPORT
• @ In case of re-export, of formulation, an
Affidavit, stating that only imported species
have been used in the manufacture of value
added formulations.

• IMPORT
• Export permit of CITES issued by the exporting
countries
• In import of seeds for sowing or planting
purpose, an important permit ,granted under
the plants, fruits and seeds, (Regulation of
import to India), order 1989.
• An import license, in respect of seeds for
consumption
Aloe spp
• The following are allowed for export and
import
• a) Seeds, spores and pollen (including
pollinia);
• Seedling or tissue cultures obtained in vitro, in
solid or liquid media, transported in sterile
containers.
Export and Import Policy (Government of India) Regulation Export
• Export of plants and plant portions obtained from the wild is allowed
on production of a no objection Certificate (NOC) from the Regional
Deputy Director (Wildlife), or the Chief Conservator of Forests or the
Divisional Forest Officer of the State concerned from where these
plants and plant portions have been procured. Besides a CITES permit
for Export is required.
• The export of plants and plant portions of the cultivated varieties are
allowed subject to the production of certificate of cultivation from
any of the above mentioned authorized officers. Besides a CITES
Permit for Export is required.
• Export of seeds is permitted subject to a declaration in the form of an
affidavit from the exporter that the seed being exported is not
Breeder or Foundation or Wild variety seed.
• Import
• Import of seeds of Aloe spp. for sowing and planting purpose is
allowed, subject to a permit of import granted under the Plants,
Fruits and Seeds (Regulation of Import into India) Order 1989.
• Import of seeds for consumption or other purposes is permitted
against a license or in accordance with a Public Notice in this behalf.
• Import of seeds for sowing can be made by the Indian Council of
Agricultural Research, Agricultural Universities, Botanical and
Horticulture Departments of other Universities and State
Governments, without a license. Such import shall be subject to such
conditions as may be specified by the Ministry of Agriculture,
Government of India, from time to time.
