APPOINTED TIME

(2011:THE BIRTH OF THE VISION)

Intro.
How Rise Up Begin.
September 4 , 2011
Vision Casting Aug 15, 2010
Intro.
Vision takes time to grow. A
vision isn’t necessarily a green
light.
You’ve got to wait until you
sense that it’s time to move on
that vision.
Waiting time isn’t wasted time.
Then I said to them, “You see
the trouble we are in:
Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its
gates have been burned with
fire. Come, let us rebuild the
wall of Jerusalem, and we will
no longer be in disgrace.”
Nehemiah 2:17 NIV
I also told them about the
gracious hand of my God on
me and what the king had said
to me. They replied, “Let us
start rebuilding.” So they
began this good work.
Nehemiah 2:18 NIV
But when Sanballat the
Horonite, Tobiah the
Ammonite official and Geshem
the Arab heard about it, they
mocked and ridiculed us.
“What is this you are doing?”
they asked. “Are you rebelling
against the king?” Nehemiah
2:19
But when Sanballat the
Horonite, Tobiah the
Ammonite official and Geshem
the Arab heard about it, they
mocked and ridiculed us.
“What is this you are doing?”
they asked. “Are you rebelling
against the king?” Nehemiah
2:19
I answered them by saying,
“The God of heaven will give
us success. We his servants will
start rebuilding, but as for
you, you have no share in
Jerusalem or any claim or
historic right to it.” Nehemiah
2:20 NIV
Nehemiah had a vision and a
call to do a work for God. He
would let no one nor anything
stand in his way. Through
hardships, planning and
perseverance the job was done
and Israel had a home once
again.
So what is a vision?
A vision, Andy Stanley has said, is a
destination. A Milestone
A clear mental picture of what could
be…fueled by the conviction that it
should be.”
It is a preferred future.
A vision always stands in contrast to the
world as it is.
It moves us outside the artificial
boundaries of the world.
But a vision requires someone
to champion the cause. It
requires someone who has the
courage to act on an idea …
someone who’s willing to be a
visioneer.
Meanwhile, back in Persia…a Jewish
man called Nehemiah heard about the
plight of his homeland—and it absolutely
devastated him. In fact, he was so
burdened… that we’re told that he wept
for his homeland and his people. It was
painful. But out of that pain came the
birth of a vision that resulted in one of
the most pivotal moments in the
communal life of Israel.
Vision needs Compassion
“When I heard these things, I
sat down and wept. For some
days I mourned and fasted and
prayed before the God of
heaven.” Nehemiah 1:4
It all started…with a burden. A
burden is a deep concern.
The burden was so deep that he
wept, and he mourned and he
fasted for several days.
The burden left him knowing
that something had to change.
Nehemiah’s also shown us
that vision begins as a concern.
God has given each of us
different concerns or burdens.
Nehemiah’s was for the
rebuilding of the walls of
Jerusalem..
God has given you
some burden, concern,
or passion that will
eventually grow into a
vision.
Nehemiah told the people about the
walls being broken. Why did he state
the obvious? Didn’t he realize that
the people already knew about the
walls? Human nature is funny. After
a century of living with a problem,
the problem stops being a problem.
The problem becomes normal. It
helps to see the world again through
fresh eyes.
Vision Empowered through
Intercession
“When I heard these
things, I sat down and
wept. For some days I
mourned and fasted and
prayed before the God of
heaven.” Nehemiah 1:4
Vision Empowered through
Intercession
When we PRAY
,God will turn our
circumstances into
opportunities.
Prayer that is born out of a
genuine burden cannot be
satisfied until it is answered! If
we pray for something once or
twice and then forget all about
it, we should ask ourselves
whether or not we were truly
praying from a burdened heart!
Vision needs Action

“And I answered, If it pleases the

king and if your servant has
found favor in his sight, let him
send me to the city in Judah
where my fathers are buried so
that I can rebuild it.” Nehemiah
2:5
Vision needs Action
God is a big God and He only
has big plans but He uses small
people with no plans to
accomplish his work.
Vision needs Action
It’s only after we begin the work
by faith that the real plan and
vision begins to unfold before us.
When God calls us to work for
him, he will equip us to do the
work that he has called us to do.
Vision will have Provision
And may I have a letter to Asaph,
keeper of the royal park, so he will
give me timber to make beams for the
gates of the citadel by the temple and
for the city wall and for the residence
I will occupy?” And because the
gracious hand of my God was on me,
the king granted my requests.
Nehemiah 2:8 NIV
Nehemiah didn’t have the
resources to rebuild the walls of
Jerusalem. He didn’t have the
money.
But when God originates a vision,
God always orchestrates the how.
God is the God of the what, but
he’s also the God of the how.
Vision needs Cooperation

Vision Collaborates
Participation
Vision needs Cooperation
Then I said to them, “You see the
trouble we are in: Jerusalem lies in
ruins, and its gates have been
burned with fire. Come, let us
rebuild the wall of Jerusalem, and
we will no longer be in disgrace.”
Nehemiah 2:17 NIV
Let’s rebuild the wall.”
Cooperation creats
Solutions.
Solutions always inspire
imagination.
When you speak of a solution, people
around you will begin to think,
“Things could be different.”
Your family could be different.
Your business could be different. Your
marriage could be different. This church
could be different.
A clear and compelling vision will include
a solution – God’s solution – to a problem
that you’ve helped other people to see.
Vision Attracts Opposition
But when Sanballat the Horonite,
Tobiah the Ammonite official and
Geshem the Arab heard about it,
they mocked and ridiculed us.
“What is this you are doing?” they
asked. “Are you rebelling against the
king?” Nehemiah 2:19
Vision Attracts Opposition
But opposition cannot
Stop you when you have
an authentic Vision from
God.
And here’s what I want to ask you
this morning: What is your burden?
What is your burden…when you
think about your life…or your
community…or your world? What is
the thing that God has laid on your
heart to see change? Because here’s
the thing I want you to know: every
great movement or change has
begun with a burden.
So..a vision starts with what? It starts with a
burden. A burden that tells you something is not
right here. Something needs to change.
Who will get it started? And you know…as we look
in our own lives…
here’s my question: What’s your burden right now?
Does it have to do with your physical life? Are you in
need of change in your self-care? Is it about your
financial life? Are things out of control and you want
to make some changes to get out of the sink hole
you’ve found yourself in? How about your family
life? Your community? Your Spiritual life? Your
church? What is your burden? What makes you
weep? And here’s the most important question:
what are you going to do about it? For you see…
vision means nothing unless you do something!.”
something!
Nehemiah had a burden. He also had
passion. But don’t miss what he did next
because this is what’s all-important in
birthing God’s vision.
He prayed. He got serious about
bringing his burden and his passion
to God. Here’s what verse 4 says:
“When I heard these words I sat
down and wept, and mourned for
days, fasting and praying before the
God heaven.”
Do you have a vision, or a calling
upon your life to accomplish
anything for God?
We must realize that anything
that God gives us a vision to do
will be a thing greater than we
think that we can do when we
begin.
Conclusion:
Vision motivates and mobilized us
to complete a great work.
So I sent messengers to them,
saying, “I am doing a great work
and I cannot come down. Why
should the work stop while I leave
it and come down to you?”
Nehemiah 6:3 NASB
It is important for us to recognize that
our participation will not be the basis for
the success of God’s work.
It is always because God has prospered
it.
So, God’s invitation for us to participate
is only so we can have a share in His
victory.
Kaya nagtagumpay yung project ni Lord
hinde dahil saten, matagumpay na siya.
Isinali lang tayo ng Lord.
