Life Pack 12

 Biphasic technology.

 Compatible with QUIK-COMBO™

pacing/ defibrillation/
ECG electrodes.
Life Pack 12
What can it do?
 ECG MONITORING

 ACQUIRING A 12-LEAD ECG

 PULSE OXIMETRY

 AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATION

 MANUAL DEFIBRILLATION

 SYNCHRONIZED CARDIOVERSION

 NONINVASIVE PACING

 NIBP MONITORING

 THERAPY WARNINGS
CONTROLS AND INDICATORS
Controls and Indicators - Area 1
 ON Button: Switches power on / off

 Energy Select: Selects energy levels in

manual shock. Press the up or down button.

 Charge: When the defibrillator is charging a
charging bar appears and a ramping tone
sounds.

 Shock: Discharges the shock to the patient.

If shock is not delivered in 60 sec, the stored
energy is removed. If you change the
charge energy, the energy is removed and
you will need to recharge.

 Sync: Use for cardioversion.

Controls and Indicators - Area 1
 Battery Charge: Indicates that at least one
battery is installed and being charged by an
AC/DC power adapter

 Service: Indicates that the internal self-

check failed

 Advisory: Activates continuous patient

surveillance system (CPSS) which monitors
the patient for potential shockable rhythm

 Analyze: Activates the Shock Advisory
System (SAS). SAS is a ECG analysis system
that will advise the user if it detects a
shockable or nonshockable rhythm

Controls and Indicators - Area 2

 Pacer: Switches pacer on and off indicated

by light. Once the ECG confirm a triangle
sensor marker on the top of the QRS, if not
change leads or adjust.

 Rate: Press the button (10ppm) or rotate

the dial (5ppm)to the desired rate

 Current: Press the button for 10 increments

or rotate the dial for 5 increments until
capture occurs. Pacer indicator will flash
with each pacing stimulus.

 Pause: Push and hold this button to pause

pacing. Pacing will continue at 25% of set
rate. Release button and pacing will
continue at set rate
Controls and Indicators - Area 3

 Lead: Select or change ECG leads. Press

the lead button again or rotate the dial to
the desired lead. Display will be on the right
side of the screen.

 Size: Press the button a display will appear.

Either press again or rotate the dial to the
desired ECG size.

 NIBP: Press the button to activate. Cuff

should inflate 30mmHg higher then pt
systolic pressure.

 Alarms: Can be configured on or off.

Alarms are set to a predetermined limits.
They can be adjusted.
Controls and Indicators – Area 3

 Options: Press the button and a screen will

display Patient, Pacing, Date/Time, Alarm
volume, Archives, Print and User Test.

 Events: Press the event button and scroll

thru the screen selecting the choice from
Adenosine, ASA, Atropine, Bicarb, CPR,
Dopamine, Epinephrine, Intubation for
example. By pressing the button a
timestamp will appear on the code summary.

 Home Screen: Pressing this button will

return you to from any overlay screen to the
home screen EXCEPT during AED analysis or
manual defibrillation charging or shocking.
Controls and Indicators - Area 4

 CO2 tubing connector: Open the connection door and

connect the Capnography tubing next connect to the
patient.

 SPO2 Cable Connector: When plugged in performs a 17

sec calibration and 3 sec self test. Measures SpO2
between 50% and 100%.

 NIBP Tubing Connector: When connect there is a 3 sec

self test. Typically takes pressure within 40 sec. but no
longer 120 sec.

 ECG Cable Connector: Connect the trunk lead and the

limb leads and/or the 12 leads are connected the trunk
lead.

 12 Lead: Press to initiate acquisition of a 12

lead ECG.

 Transmit: Capability to transmit patient data.

 Code Summary: Pressing button will print the

code summary with critical events that were
recorded.

 Print: Press the button to start and to stop the

printer.
