WHAT IS THE JET FUEL
Jet fuel, aviation turbine fuel (ATF), or avtur, is a
type of aviation fuel designed for use
in aircraft powered by gas-turbine engines. It is
colorless to straw-colored in appearance. The most
commonly used fuels for commercial aviation are Jet
A and Jet A-1, which are produced to a standardized
international specification. The only other jet fuel
commonly used in civilian turbine-engine powered
aviation is Jet B, which is used for its enhanced cold-
weather performance.
JET FUEL
The chemical compound of jet
2,4-Dimethyl-6-tert-butylphenol is
an alkylated phenol used industrially as
an antioxidant, e.g. to prevent gumming
in fuels, and as an ultraviolet stabilizer. It is
used in jet fuels, gasoline and avgas. It is a
clear liquid with melting point 21-23 °C and
boiling point 248-249 °C
How is jet produced?
 The most fundamental refining process is
distillation, But Jet fuels are typically made by
blending and refining various crude oil,
petroleum distillation products such as
naphtha, gasoline, or kerosene in order to
meet specific military or commercial
specifications.
The application of jet
• It is the primary fuel used in jet aircraft
Heaters Cookers and Lighting, but it is also
used in other jet turbine applications. ... The
kerosene used to make jet fuel has a boiling
range in between gasoline and diesel range
material.
