ABSTRACT

The sniffer is a small base station it includes transceiver section. It should operate at a
frequency that is much different from the frequency of the current cell in which the
operation of detection is being carried out. Some of the main things are the frequency
that has to be generated by the transceiver section is around 900MHZ range which is a
VHF range and it is necessary to design the oscillator circuit for cooling that has to be
provided to the circuit while designing the circuit that is to be operated at 900MHZ
Frequency. Hence proper design of base station is an important thing in the design of
sniffer. Mobile phones as well as the base station has low power transmitter is also2
WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU LOOSE YOUR MOBILE PHONE?

• Calling again and again

• Block Sim Card

• Reporting

• But still not found our mobile?

So what was the best solution to find our
mobile?

SNIFFER
3
SNIFFER

How It Operates?

• It is operated on a frequency which is much different from the frequency of the current
cell in which the operation of detection is being carried out.

• The sniffer is a small base station that includes transceiver section.

4
IMEI

What is an IMEI number and How it is helpful?

• International Mobile Equipment Identifier.

• It is an unique number embedded in the mobile phones.
• It is used for blocking of call made by unauthorized user or person.
• Numbering system is a 15 digit unique code.
• Identify-GSM/DCS/PCM.
• Check EIR(equipment id register).

5
Design of Sniffer

How to design a Sniffer?

• Sniffer device has to be designed precisely and size should be reduced for easy mobility
for the purpose of detection.
• Sniffer design includes a mobile base station that includes
• 1. Sniffer base station
• 2. Unidirectional antenna
• 3. Tracking software

6
Sniffer Base Station

What is Sniffer base station?

• Small base station.

• Include transceiver section.
• Operated at frequency (900mhz).
• OSCILLATOR-circuit for frequency range.
• Cooling is important that has to be provided to the circuit.
• Low power transmitter (help in nature).

7
Unidirectional Antenna

What is Unidirectional Antenna and What it does?

• Acts as a eyes for a sniffer

• Antenna is a device works at specified frequency
• Transmitting and receiving signals
• Transmit power
• Used to show Radio pattern

8
Unidirectional Antenna

What is Unidirectional Antenna and What it does?

• Acts as a eyes for a sniffer

• Antenna is a device works at specified frequency
• Transmitting and receiving signals
• Transmit power
• Used to show Radio pattern

9
Tracking Software

How does it work?

• Feature : help to create database using RAM

• IMEI - embedded in a chip
• RAM stored -IMEI no
• Acts as a database

10
Working of Sniffers?

How does it work?

• The Working Of Sniffer Is Of Two Phases.

• Before Sniffer Increases The Frequency.
• After Sniffer Increases The Frequency

11
Working Style

12
Advantages

• The method is used for finding the lost mobiles effectively.

• Cost effective.
• Low power consumption.
• Easy to design.

13
Conclusion

There are certain boundary conditions that has to be qualified for the identification
of lost mobile like the power of the mobile should be good enough , the mobile
phone should not be in the shadow region but however this method using modern
technologies and devices.
