A map or a network topology view represents a set of sites, NEs
and connections between symbols.

1) Log in as an operator having relevant rights
2) Access to TMN-OSs Management window
3) Start 1353NM application, selecting Actions Topology Manager
or double-clic on the icon

Creating a submap (1) : by “Child View”
1) To add a child view, select the menu Edit Create Child View
2) Define a Name : unique name
without spaces
3) Select a symbol
4) Click Apply , a new symbol appears

1) To add a child view, select the menu Edit Add Symbol
2) Select a Type (no graphical view)
3) Define a User label : unique name

The submap can be customized:
1) Select the menu
View View Parameters
2) Define the following parameters:
Background : from the list
Layout : e.g. “Cartesian”

1) Select the menu File Local Persistency Save Map as
Define a File Name : --- (unique name without spaces)
2) Click Save

Creating an NE
1) Open the related submap
2) Choose Declarations Create NE
3) Fill in the NE Creation window
Select the appropriate:
NE family
Type of equipment
Release of equipment
Fill in the two mandatory fields :
User label
Location Name
4) Click Apply to launch the creation
The created NE appears on the submap
5) Close the window or create more NEs
6) Manage the related addresses (NE &
OS) . See next pages.

System addressing - NSAP address
An NSAP address represents globally a unique location in the OSI
environment
The NSAP address is made of two parts :
IDP : defining the address structure
DSP : the address itself

1353NM icon then OS

Double clic on
“Necom_SubSystem_0”
Then, the whole OS NSAP
address is shown
Get the required address
Close the windows as
follow:

modify and click "OK”
If no modification is done,
click ”Cancel”

3) Configure the OS address on the NE from the 1320CT
Select menu Configuration Comm/Routing OS Configuration
Make sure the values of the
selectors are :
Presentation : 0002
Session : 00
Transport : 00
Enter the main (and the
spare if any) OS NSAP
addresses:
NSAP : 39 ...
Click "OK"

4) Verify or set the LAPD configurations from the 1320CT
Select menu Configuration Comm/Routing Interfaces
Configuration LAPD Configuration
For each SDH port between
the GNE and any other NE
to reach, make sure the
LAPD interfaces are used
(Yes) and configured :
“Network” / “User”
Click “Apply” to confirm
any modification then
”Close"

exists in the database

2) The list of NEs already created appears

This action simply deletes the NE from the current submap

1) From Equipment view of the Host NE” get or set the IP address of the ISA
board:

4) Fill in the window :

A map is locked when it is opened to be modified, but it can always be
