Conclusion:
Heart failure hospitalizations have the highest 30-day all causes readmission rate and the largest estimate total cost among
conditions in 2011 among Medicare beneficiaries (Murtaugh et al, 2017). With the numbers being so high, something needs to
change. Overall a number of factors could be changed, but starting with reevaluating the education programs for patients is a good
first step. More research will also have to be done on other populations to see how effective it really is.
