FREE TIME
Free time is very important for people. Some of them are looking to spend their free
time in a useful way and that is why they make plans in advance. However, they
must take into account relaxation - it must not be missing.
Romanians prefer to spend their free time with family, to take walks in the park, in
the woods, generally in nature, outdoors. Many of them go to amusement parks or
swimming pools, where they have fun with their children. Others spend special
moments with relatives in their free time, participate in onomastics and
anniversaries. Holidays are preferred by Romanians, they say that in their free time
they love to go on a short vacation. For example, on weekends they go 2 days to the
sea or to the mountains. Reading is preferred by young people. They say they go to
the theater, to the movies or to read a book in their free time.
 FAMILIES
The typical romanian family has one or two children. A lot of children live with their
grandparents because their parents have gone abroad to work. They see their parents only
two times per year, when the parents comes home in holiday.
HOLIDAYS
Holidays in Romania are days declared by law as non-working, other than weekends.
The Labor Code provides for 15 days off granted during the holidays, respectively
three days for Easter, two days for New Year, Pentecost and Christmas and one day
for the Day of the Union of Romanian Principalities, International Labor Day,
Children's Day, Assumption, Saint Andrei and Romania's National Day.
SPORTS
The romanian national sport is Football.
Outside the country people know Romania for the good tennis player like Ion Tiriac and Simona
Halep.
Very popular is also gymnastics. Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast who became
the first woman to score a perfect 10 in an Olympic gymnastics event in 1976, at age of 14.
