Motivation & Aim of project 3

 Nowadays office and building automation systems are used more and more. On one hand, they
provide increased comfort, results in a smarter home and is used to provide a higher & healthier
standard of living.
 The technology offers new and exciting opportunities to increase the connectivity of devices
within the Home for the purpose of load control and safety security system.
Introduction 4

A load control system is a means that allow users to control electric appliances of
varying kind. Wireless LOAD Control system using IoT is a system that uses
computers or mobile devices to control basic functions and features automatically
through internet from anywhere around the world. It is meant to save the electric
power and human energy.
Objectives of the System 5

 Here we propose to use IOT in order to control Load for safety and security,
thus automating modern homes or offices through the internet.
 The internet of things (IoT) is the internetworking of physical devices,
vehicles, buildings and other items—embedded with electronics, software,
sensors, and network connectivity that enable these objects to collect and
exchange data.

NodeMcu(ESP-12E)

ESP-12E/ ESP-12F CP2102 New Lolin NodeMcu

Lua V3 Wireless Module Wifi Internet of Things
(IoT) Development Board Based On ESP8266
Micro USB To TTL
This is the famous NodeMCU which is based on
ESP8266 WiFi SoC. This is version 3 and it is
based on ESP-12E or ESP-12F  (An ESP8266 based
WiFi module). NodeMCU is also an open-source
firmware and development kit that helps you to
prototype your IoT(Internet of Things) product
within a few LUA script lines, and of course you
can always program it with Arduino IDE.
Flame Sensor 9

 Can detect 760-1100nm Flame or light source

wavelength;
 View Angle: 60 degree, the flame spectrum is
particularly sensitive;
 Output form: Digital Switch show (0 and 1);
 Fixed Bolt Hole, easy installation;
 Small PCB size:3.2CM*1.4CM;
 Adjustable Sensitivity;
 The comparator output, the signal is clear, good
waveform, driving ability, more than 15mA;
MQ-2 10

 MQ-2 gas sensor is SnO2, which with lower

conductivity in clean air. MQ2 Gas sensor
works on 5V DC and draws around 800mW. It
can detect LPG, Smoke, Alcohol, Propane,
Hydrogen, Methane and Carbon Monoxide
concentrations anywhere from 200 to
10000ppm.
PIR Sensor 11

 PIR Sensors are also known as Passive Infrared

Sensors. They are constructed from an array of
solid-state sensors made from pyro electric
materials that generate a voltage when exposed
to heat. They are used in thermal sensing
applications, including security sensors and
motion detectors.
Blynk: Hardware-agnostic IoT platform 12
Blynk is not meant for a specific board or
shield. It will get you online and ready for the
IoT, irrespective of whether Arduino is linked
to the Internet over Wi-Fi, Ethernet or an
ESP8266 chip.
Blynk can control hardware remotely. It can
display sensor data, store and visualise it,
among other cool things.
There are three major components in the
platform as given below:
Blynk app
Blynk server
Blynk libraries

Working Principle & Discussion 15

 In our project we have used Nodemcu(ESP-12E) to control home loads from

anywhere and also controlled by Time settings.
 After connect all components according to the circuit diagram we get the expected
output We have successfully completed our project.
Applications 16

 The inefficiency of operation of conventional wall switches can be overwhelmed using various
load control systems (without using conventional switching methods)
 The android application can control Arduino, Bluetooth, Raspberry Pie etc., based load control
systems can be more efficient, provides ease of operation.
Advantages 17

 Managing all of our home devices from one place. Save a lot of time.
 Fan, Light, & Switch can be operated.
 Able to control our home’s functions from any distance.
 Increased energy efficiency.
 Have a advance safety alarm system for gas lick and unexpected fire.
Disadvantages 18

 Initial cost: The price of the home automation installation is still high. The initial investment that
must be made is very important since the entire home must be wired.
 Maintenance: In the event of some type of breakdown, its repair can be complex and expensive
 Data transmission speed: when transferring a large amount of data, the network can become
congested and decrease the transmission speed, causing the functions to slow down.
Conclusion 19

 Hence we prove and conclude that it is possible to connect to a Wi-Fi module

through a remote device like mobile using a web page and operate upon it.
Through a processor it is possible to change the state of GPIO remotely connected
through internet. Using this contact it is also possible to drive a relay and operate
various appliances like lights, fans etc.
