All contracting parties get access to LuxSpace AIS data based on existing and/or soon
launched space assets starting from the day of satellite contract signature to build up
and offer service to national customers
After the launch of their own asset, their AIS database will be connected to the
LuxSpace AIS database and databases from all other contracting parties thus
increasing the update capability
LuxSpace AIS alone: Global vessel information every 6 hours
LuxSpace AIS + 1-2 further country satellites: Global vessel information every 3 hrs.
LuxSpace AIS + 3-4 further country satellites: Global vessel information every 1 hr.

COMMERCIAL CONCEPT

Multi-national approach (Joint Constellation):

Several partners in different countries - possibly of different continents or at least
3000 km distance between ground stations to avoid conflicts
Each partner uses the resources of all satellites including LuxSpace existing space
assets while only funding one or more - commercial and / or institutional use of
space assets within the respective zone of interest by contracting party
Typical area for a country joining in with one satellite is 3 Million square nm
Revenue shared for additional commercial customers outside cone of each partner
3rd parties wishing to access satellite constellation pay access fee shared by
satellite owners
Health of all satellites controlled centrally at Luxembourg as backup service

Complete package for each participant in the order of 4-5 M€ (depending on

launch vehicle) including
Access to LuxSpace AIS database until launch and afterwards until end of satellite
life
Micro satellite with AIS payload
Baseline UHF Band ground station for satellite tasking and data download
Baseline database & utilisation and storage kit
Launch
Initial user training
