ERP & PP Module
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) is business
process management software that allows an
organization to use a system of integrated
applications to manage the business and
automate many back office functions related to
technology, services and human resources.

PP is a module of SAP & full meaning is

Production Planning
Shop Floor Control
There are three types of production process

Production Types

Discrete Repetitive Production – Process

Manufacturing Manufacturing Industries
2nd Phase
1st Phase REM
REM +
DISCRETE
Discrete Manufacturing
Purpose
• Production by lot size
• Make to order production
• Assembly processing
• Suitable for handling co-products
REM
Purpose
• High product stability
• High repetition rate
• Low complexity
Difference Between REM & Discrete
Steps Involve in Production Process
• Creating a production order
• Material availability check
• Capacity check
• Release the order
• Operational confirmation
• Teco ( technically completed)
Backflushing

Backflushing is an integral part of repetitive manufacturing .

Backflushing is directly linked to Periodical Product Cost
Controlling via the Product Cost Collector.
[movement type 261]
Purpose
In the final backflush, you can link the following processes:
• Posting goods receipts for finished products
• Posting goods issues for the components
• Reducing planned orders or run schedule quantities
• Posting production costs to product cost collector
By-product & Co-product

Master Data
• Material Master
viz> RM, SRM, SFG, FG, BYP
• Bill of Material
• Work Center
• Routing
• Production Version
• Cost Collector

Work Center

Routing
Production Version
• BOM + Routing = PV
• A production version determines which
alternative BOM is used together with which
task list / master recipe to produce a material
or create a master production schedule
Cost Collector
• In order-related production (that is, when you are
using production orders) when you want to
analyze the costs by period rather than by lot
• In process manufacturing (that is, when you are
using process orders) when you want to analyze the
costs by period rather than by lot
• In repetitive manufacturing you always use
product cost collectors as cost objects.
