When two metals of different reactivity are placed in an electrolyte
The more reactive metal – easier to give out electrons The less reactive metal – takes in electron
- negative electrode (Anode) - positive electrode(Cathode)
So the bigger the gap between two different metals in the reactivity series, the larger the voltage reading.
