 What are vitamins?
Vitamins A, B, C and D are some kinds of vitamins
 These cover nutrients that contain carbon
and are needed in small
amounts to maintain health and allow growth.
 If a child lacks vitamins, he/she will suffer
from the following
nutrition deficiencies its characteristics and
symptoms:
“How can we avoid vitamin deficiencies?”

“What will happen if we don’t get


enough vitamins?”
Discussion
Nutritional deficiency is caused by eating the wrong kind of food.
It is also caused by unhealthy lifestyle and environment. When we
are unhealthy, we are predisposed to get diseases. It is therefore
important to
keep our bodies healthy.
 Discuss with pupils the specific conditions of each
vitamin deficiency.
Describe the signs and symptoms.

1. What will happen if we do not get enough vitamins?
2. What are the conditions if you lack vitamin A? B? C? D?
