DIVISION OF A FRACTIONAL NUMBER

BY A WHOLE NUMBER

A fractional number ÷ a whole number

= the fractional number x the


multiplicative inverse of the whole
number
Example: ⅞ ÷ 9
= ⅞ x 1/9
= 7/72

and multiply numerators and

3. Cancel down and change to a mixed
