The document “Baseline for the Global Goals in Denmark” is intended to demonstrate the
extent to which Denmark is meeting the global goals.
Approach of Denmark:
Denmark is maintaining the UN indicators so that they can continue to benchmark themselves
internationally. However, the supplementary targets are Danish, and therefore underpin their
national and local solutions.
GOAL 11 and it’s targets:
• In the baseline, Statistics Denmark has assessed the UN’s indicators and has
supplemented UN indicators with new indicators relevant to measure how well
the global goals are being met in Denmark.
• These new indicators form the basis for the baseline. The baseline is divided into
Goal 11 targets and consists of two to four indicators per target.
• For each indicator they have gathered a number of specific observations that can
point to areas in need of action or special attention concerning the indicators
and data.
• For some indicators they lack data that satisfy the criteria and thus cannot
presently be included in the baseline.
• Finally, they presented the baseline results for the individual targets.
Target 11.1 : Build adequate, safe
and affordable housing
By 2030, more affordable housing in the major cities must be secured, and
vulnerable groups must be helped in particular.
Target 11.2 : Create safe, affordable,
accessible and sustainable transport
systems
UN indicator: The proportion of the population having easy access to
public transport, distributed by sex, age and persons with disabilities.
• CO2 emissions from transport have increased, while the total CO2
emissions per inhabitant has fallen in the 2010-2015 period.
Across all the years, the people with reduced mobility have an average
of up to 300 meters longer to the nearest train station than people
who do not have reduced mobility.
