LIMITATION OF SIGHT

AND HEARING
OBJECTIVE

Collect information about the device that can

be used to overcome the limitation of sight and
hearing
PROBLEM STATEMENT
1. Humans cannot see distant and tiny objects cleary
2. A few people have hearing problem
3. A person gets older, the frequency range of his hearing gets
narrower
DEFINITION OF LIMITATION OF SIGHT

Limitation in the ability of the eye to see objects.

DEFECT OF SIGHT (SHORT- HOW IT IS CORRECTED
SIGHTEDNESS)

 Inability to see distant objects clearly  Using concave lens

 Distant objects appear blurry because the image
is focused in front of the retina
 This defect is caused by the eye lens being to
thick or the eyeball being too long
DEFECT OF SIGHT (LONG- HOW IT IS CORRECTED
SIGHTEDNESS)
 Inability to see near objects clearly  Using convex lens
 Near object appear blurry because the image is
focused behind the retina
 This defect caused by the eye lens being too thin
or the eyeball being too short
DESIGN OF SPECTACLES
PROCESS OF DOING SPECTACLES
DEFINITION OF LIMITATION OF
HEARING
• Limitations in the ability of the ear to hear sound.
• We can only hear sounds of frequencies between the range of 20 Hz-
20 000 Hz.
• The ears are unable to detect sound which lie outside this frequency
range.
• The frequency range of hearing of every individual is different.
DEFECTS OF HEARING
• Damage to the ear due to infections by microorganisms
• Injury
• Ageing process
• Continous exposure to loud sounds
