Corporate Social Responsibility
Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a business approach that
contributes to sustainable development by delivering economic,
social and environmental benefits for all stakeholders. A
company's sense of responsibility towards the community and
environment (both ecological and social) in which it operates.
Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is how companies manage
their business processes to produce an overall positive impact on
society. It covers sustainability, social impact and ethics, and
done correctly should be about core business - how companies
make their money - not just add-on extras such as philanthropy.
Types of Corporate Social Responsibility
1. Ethical Responsibility
Ethical responsibility entails mandatory fulfillment of a
firm’s economic ,legal and ethical responsibilities. Business
as a constituent of larger society, recognized as an economic
role player, it must have to engage in producing goods and
services that society wants and sell them at a profit in the
periphery of prevailing law, rules and regulations as well as
social and cultural norms.
2. Strategic Responsibilities
Strategic responsibility represents proactive responsiveness
in those social works that will simultaneously benefit the
bottom line of the company. Therefore, the intention of
strategic responsibility is ultimately like to the corporate
benefit by serving the society.
3. Altruistic Responsibility
Altruistic Responsibility entails fulfillment of
organization’s philanthropic obligations or other social
involvements, irrespective of whether the business will reap
financial benefits or not. There are debates regarding the
this type of CSR.
