using Slack: How to


download and setup

What is Slack?
 Some teams nowadays are migrating or starting to use Slack to
help reduce the number of emails received, and in instances where
they would like to feel connected with team members throughout
the workweek in an easy way.
 Slack is a great collaboration tool for:
 Any teams looking to share and find information that is shared easily
 Any teams looking for a means to deliver information to the entire
Why Slack? team without having to use multiple threads of email while still
being able to send direct messages to individuals as needed
 Want a collaboration tool that can integrate with other applications
such as Google Drive
 Anyone working on a project with others and need an easy tool to
organize messages, documents, and information in one place
 Anyone who is a part of any kind of collaboration and need a simple
tool to organize messages
Option 1: Browser version via Slack.com
Visit slack.com and click on “Launch Slack” at the top right hand corner to either launch
existing Slack workspaces in the browser, sign in to a workspace, or create a new workspace.

Option 2: Download Slack for Desktop
Visit slack.com and hover over “Resources” where you can find a link that takes you to a page
to download the desktop version of Slack. This version is great if you have multiple Slack
workspaces for ease of toggling between different workspaces.

Option 3: Download Slack for Mobile
Visit your app store (Android or IOS) and find the slack app. From there, you can download
and use Slack on your mobile smartphone with similar capabilities as the desktop version.

 On the online or desktop version, you
