OVERVIEW
In this presentation I am going to tell you about the Work done
in Gautam Buddha International Airport project construction.

 Designing and planning of gautam buddha international airport.


 Construction of international runway.
 International terminal building, control tower and its Importance.
 Relation between Client, Contractor and Consultant
 Work done in the site.
 Equipment used in the site.
 Instrument used in the site
DESIGNING AND PLANNING OF GAUTAM
BUDDHA INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT
Constrution Of International Runway

• The length of the runway is 3000 m with 45m width.

• It consist 7.7m shoulder on the both side with thickness of


10 cm.

• it is constructed in thee layer (Base course ,Binder course and


wearing course), with thickness 15cm, 7.5cm, and 7.5cm
respectilly.

• The rolling temperature of laiyed asphalt should be (120-140 )


0C. And the compection should not be less than 98%.
International terminal building & control tower .

• International terminal building; It is where passengers are


able to get on and off aircraft. Inside the terminal, passengers
can buy tickets, leave or pick up their luggage, and be checked
by security staff. The buildings that provide access to the
airplanes through gates are usually called concourses.
• Control tower; Air traffic control (ATC) is a service provided by
ground-based controllers who direct aircraft on ground and
through controlled airspace,and can provide advisory service to
aircraft in non­controlled air space. The primary purpose of ATC
is worldwide is to prevent collision, organize andexpedite the
flow of air traffic, and provide information and other supports
to pilots.
GAUTAM BUDDHA INTERNATIONAL
AIRPORT AND ITS IMPORTANCE

 It is second international airport of Nepal.


 Gautam Buddha Airport (GBA) is located in Bhairahawa, the
mid-western region of Nepal at four kilometers from the district
headquarters, Rupandehi, at an altitude of 109 meters above
sea level.
 To provide more air seats capacity for visitors, thus helping to
increases current load and volume of travelers.
 To provide the service to the buddhist pilgrimage who visit
Lumbini the birth place of Gautam buddha

During my internship period I have learnt the
following works in the field
 Construction of runway.
 Rebar
 Excavation process for foundation and apron.
 Stair case and lift bar schedule
 Types of beam and column
 Use of surveying equipment like Total station and Level
machine
 Equipment used in the site

The equipment which were used in the field are
