ABSTRACT:
Now a days safer transportation of school children has been a
critical issue as it is often observed their kids find themselves locked in the
school bus at the bus stop after going to school. Parents feel much worried
about the safety of their children. Thus ,we proposed a SMS based solution to
help the parents to know their children arrival and time of departure during
their school days.

This system will control the entry and exit of students to and from the bus
using RFID and GSM technologies. If the bus journey is successful from
source to destination ,it will send an SMS to the management or parents to
inform its departure and arrival. Accident detection sensors are implanted on
the front surface of school bus to detect collision with another vehicle on the
road. In this system provides the drunk and drive prevention and the speed
control system is used to help the children commute safely.
INTRODUCTION:

School children safety is the most awaited research needed for present age
with the support of advanced technology.

The Entry and Exit status of the children is primarily fed and made
available with school principal and with the parents.

This project describes a bus safety system to control the entry and exit of
students from the bus. These systems identify personal information of each
student using RFID tag, via radio waves and display each student name into
LCD display .

The IR sensor is used to monitor the total count of the students.

We proposed a model with RFID,GSM , alcohol sensor ,ultrasonic sensor

and ARDUINO microcontroller .
EXISTING METHOD:

The Entry and Exit status of the children is primarily fed and made
available with school principal and with the parents.
We used GSM module with embedded unit in the moving vehicle to
transmit accident information to different points.
The IR sensor is used to monitor the total count of the students. This will
help the driver to know count of students inside the bus and the students
who departed from the bus.

If the bus depart and arrive successful from the source to destination, it
will communicate the management through an SMS about successful
departure and arrival via GSM Modem.

PIN DISCRIPTION:
WORKING :
 Accelerometer detects the sudden change in the axes of vehicle and GSM
module sends the alert message on your Mobile Phone with the location of
the accident.
 Location of accident is sent in the form of Google Map link, derived from
the latitude and longitude from GPS module
 The main objective of the system is to avoid accident by ULTRASONIC
sensor.
 The system uses MQ-3 alcohol sensor to continuously monitor the blood
alcohol content (BAC) to detect the existence of liquor in the exhalation of
a driver.
 Two IR sensors are used to check whether a student is arriving or leaving
bus.
 Hence , we have proposed ARDUINO based embedded system which
provides a complete solution to children safety and school bus tracking.
ADVANTAGES:

 Arduino based embedded system provides a complete solution to children

safety and bus tracking .

 MQ-3 sensor continuously monitor alcohol content(BAC) of the driver.

This can prevent from accidents.

 The main objective of the system is to avoid accident by using ultra sonic
sensor and accelerometer detects the sudden change in the bus drift

 Two IR sensor used in the system to record arrival and departure of the
student in the bus

 GPS module locates the real time longitude and latitude distance of the bus
with utmost accuracy. So that parent can track the location of the student at
any point of time

CONCLUSION :

 In summary, the system meets all of the specified design requirements and
functionalities. The location and speed were tracked continuously and
accurately and subsequently plotted on the map.
 The GPS showed a delay between 30s-60s on startup. The data
communication showed no corruption.
 The RFID was read instantly and the notifications received in less than 15s
on an average. This proposed system aims at enhancing the safety of
children during the daily transportation to and from school.
 Also the drunk and drive prevention system using alcohol sensors play a
major role to help the children commute safely. In this manner the system is
capable of notifying parents/guardians through text message once the child
enters/leaves the varsity, enabling parents/guardians to trace the bus, helping
smooth and safer rides to the various destinations.
FUTURE SCOPE :

 In future it can be extended to perform the same for all children in the school
by reducing the size of the child module. It can be also extended by interfacing
a camera to the child module and intimating the missing child or child cry
information both to the parents mobile and to the police control room.

  It also focuses on recording a child’s cry and when it matches with crying of
the child in school the text message containing the location of a child will be
sent to the parent and by using longitude and latitude values the location of a
child can be traced by using app in the parent’s mobile.
