    How Do The Human Lungs Work?
    Exhalation
    -intercostal muscles relax and ribcage moves inwards and downwards

    -diaphragm muscles relax and curve upwards

    -movements of ribcage and diaphragm make thoracic cavity smaller and cause

    -higher internal air pressure forces air out of the lungs
