An autocracy is a government in which one


person has all the power.

 There are two main types of autocracy:

1. A monarchy

2. A dictatorship
a. Monarchy

In a monarchy, the king or


queen rules the country.
b. Dictatorship

a dictatorship is a form of government in


which one person has the absolute power
over citizens.
2. Democracy (the power to the people)
Democracy

 In a democracy , citizens hold the political power.

 There are two main types of dempcracies:


1. Representtive democracy
2. Direct democracy
 1. in a Representative democracy, citizens elect

leaders to represent their rights and intersts in

government.
 2. In direct democracy, there are no representative.

Citizens are directly involved in the day-to-day

work of governing the country.


3. Oligarchy( we, ourselves and us)
3. Oligarchy

In an oligarchy, a small group of people has


all the power. For example: people belonging
to a specific political party, social class or
race.
4. Theocracy (religious rule)
Theocracy
 Theocracy is a government that recognises God or a divine being as
the ultilmate authority.

 In a Theocracy, religious law is used to settle disputes and rule the


people.

 A theocracy can also be a democracy, dictatorship, monarchy.


Anarchy ( rule by none)
 In an anarchy, nobody is in control or everyone is.

 Anarchy describes the human state of existence before any

governments. It would be similar to the way animals live in the wild.
