Present Perfect

PRESENT PERFECT

You use the Present Perfect to say:


-that an action happened at an
unspecified time before now.
-that an action began in the past and
continues in the present.

has/have + past participle


Examples

• People have traveled to the moon.


• Tom has visited France.
• I have been to Italy.
• I think I have seen that movie before.
• We have eaten fish a lot of times.

Present Perfect

• in the week, month, year


• this week, month, year
• never – ever
• yet
Examples

• The rain hasn't stopped yet.


• Have you ever met him?
I have never visited Italy.
• I have eaten lunch.
• They have just finished the homework.
Questions

Have you ever slept in a cave?


Has he eaten guinea pig?
Have you read the book?
Have they called you?
Negative form
• I have not( haven’t) been there .
• The students haven’t studied the
lesson.
• Mark has not (hasn’t) come home.
• Dona and Mark haven’t found the
money.
