1 - What is OEE?
OEE …

› is an abbreviation for Overall Equipment Effectiveness

› is an Industry Standard
› is a Key Performance Indicator (KPI) for production and areas close to production
› shows the effectiveness of a machine (or lines)

Availability
Goal:
Identify the
efficiency
of machines and their
OEE optimization

OEE

Availability  takes into account all events that stop planned

production

Performance takes into account all minor stops and speed

losses that prevent the machine to reach the
maximum

Quality takes into account manufactured parts that do not

meet quality standards, including parts that need
rework

Monitoring – Time State Adjustment

› The TSA feature allows to change existing time states or time range (permission required)
› Reasons to change the time track:
- A general downtime (like equipment defect) will be categorized after repair
- Several Failure Catalogs can be maintained

› For the performance calculation the ideal cycle time (also called SOT Value) is needed
› SOT Values are maintained via channel key combinations (ckc’s)
› Opportunity to show all SOT CKC’s assigned to a specific equipment
› Trend Report of single CKC’s available

Reporting

› The Pulse OEE Reporting provides several

reports by means of the logged machine
information.
› There are different report types available:
Trend, Compare and Detail
› Reports are created after a preset time for a
defined time period. For example, shift
report is cumulated after shift, day report
after day, weekly report after week and so
on…

Reporting – Time Analysis

› The Trend report shows the time states over a defined

time period
› The Compare report compares all equipment under
the selected hierarchy node to each other
› The Detail report provides a detailed summary of the
time states for a equipment or group within the defined
time period

Trend Report
