Writing

• The written plot gives the story its


direction.
• The writer and artist must then decide
how to break up the story to fit each
page.
• Once the story has been refined, the
writer creates a script.

• Makes a thumbnail.
• Continues to fulfill the page.
• Main elements of each scene.
• The overall effect and makes any
changes before proceeding.
• An editor may review the pencil
drawings and make changes.
• Lettering for the dialogue, sound
effects, and narratives that appear in

Printing

• The plastic films for the four colors on each page


are used to produce four aluminum printing plates.
Front side first color plate → circular drum
Back side first color plate → another drum below it
• Water flows over the rotating plates, while rollers
with colored ink press against them.
Chemical dots → ink sticks
Chemical burned away → ink washes off
