DAR ES SALAAM INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY

DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERRING

PROJECT TITLE: DESIGN OF AUTOMATIC UNIVERSAL STAMPING MACHINE.

STUDENT’S NAME: MWINYIMVUA HAMIS, M

ADMISSION NO: 180540520202

NTA LEVEL 8
INTRODUCTION

•This project has included all the elements of mechatronics, which are mechanics, electronics,
electrical and software technology. Mechatronics has revolutionized different technologies and
advanced automation.
• Stamping of stamps is one of the most common practices in offices, schools, post offices, colleges
etc. Stamps represent approval and authenticity of different papers and other products. This process
can be simplified by the use of automation.
•Automation is defined as the technique of making an apparatus, a process, or a system operate
automatically. Processes that have been automated require less human intervention and less human
time to accomplish. Automatic feeding, stamping and ejecting machine for papers is the machine that
will feed, stamp and eject booklets, identity cards, letters and papers automatically. The stamping
operation is powered by using air.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
•At Dar es salaam Institute of Technology (DIT), the stamping of papers, booklets,
identification cards and certificates is done manually. This consumes more time and
at times very tiring especially during the printing of booklets and examination cards.
•To solve this problem, the machine that will feed, stamp and eject papers, booklets
and identification cards automatically, will be designed and manufactured.
OBJECTIVES

MAIN OBJECTIVES
•The main objective of this project is to design Universal stamping
machine for booklets, identification cards and papers at DIT.

SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES
• To examine existing stamping machine.

• To design the system components.

• To make interfacing program for integrating part of microcontroller operation.

• To make and test the prototype
