Future Tense
Future Tense
Future Tense
DEFINITION
5 categories of using the simple
future tense
• Single word : tomorrow (tomorrow), soon (soon), tonight (a little night). Note :
Tonight means future time if at the time of expressing an event activity or it is not yet
evening (only 5 pm, 2 pm, or still 10 am ect). But if for example at 8 o'clock in the
evening you are alone with your boyfriend, tonight means tonight (meaning now). I
am with my boy or girlfriend tonight. I am so happy. Tonight is one of my greatest
nights in my whole life.
• Phrase next week (next week), next month (next month), next year (next year), etc.
• Clause: when she arrives, if the rain falls tomorrow, etc. Remember: the clause (i.e.
adverbial clause) for the simple future tense is always in the present tense. Don't
put it in future tenses. INCORRECT if when she will arrive; if the rain willfall
tomorrow.
