Before you start be sure to have:
1. Laptop with OMT-50S or newer.
2. USB to serial cable.
3. Consel Cable (RPM 919 732)
4. CF flash card reader
5. DUG required software
6. IDB file, configuration parameters
(from site, design sheet, and
call the Back office guy):
 Number of DUG’s in the site.
 Number of and which sectors on eech DUG.
 RU config. (no. Of TRX for each sector).
 DBB and TEI.
 Number of E1’s in the site.
 External Alarms to be defined.

The RUS is certified for 60 W. The default output power


without license keys is 20 W. License keys are used to
set the output power to 40 W or 60 W. The RUS has the
following functions: • Transceiving Receiving Processing
(TRP) • Uplink and downlink filtering • Power Amplifier
(PA) functions • Up to four carriers downlink and uplink
with 2-RX diversity

 Defining Node Parameter: here in our case DUG-1 will control the RBS system so set this to true in DUG-1
as below and all other DU’s will be set to false

Installing IDB

1. Physically
connect the OMT
to the RBS by
using the
console cable
and usb to serial
cable together.

 Before clicking the
”Install” icon/toolbar,
make sure that the
DUG is in
Maintenance Mode.
 Either press the
button on the DUG or
right click on ”GSM
Node” Box in OMT
then click Change
Maintenance mode.
 Make sure that the
Blue LED Lighting
 Click Install
 Note: Do not
touch the RBS when
any indicators are
flashing.

Installing CF Flash
 Before you insert the CF flash inside the
DUG! you need to copy the required
Software to this flash from your Laptop.
 Use the Card reader to connect to the
Flash. Then do the copying.
 Note. You can load the pre created IDB
direct to this Flash as descibed in the
following slides.

Compleate integration
1. Check all cables are connected and DUG ready for power on.
2. Power the DUG on and wait untile the Green LED ( ) is in steady or constant light.
3. Make sure that Maintenance LED ( )in DUG and RUS are off and not blue, if it’s
blue push and hold on maintenance button.
4. Make sure from the E1 connectivity.
5. Call Back Office to start integration.

IDB Modification
 Incase of any problem or for any reason you need to modify the
configuration, you need to load installed IDB from the DUG to your OMT
then after you finish each modification save it to the DUG.

 Connect you cable to the DUG and connect the OMT as explained before.

 Click on Read botton.

 Do modify the IDB.


 make sure that the DUG is in Maintenance Mode.

 Click on install.
