 What is OS hardening ?
 It is an act of configuring an OS securely, updating regularly,
creating rules and policies to help govern the system in a secure
manner and also removing unnecessary applications and services
that are not needed to minimize the computer OS’s exposure to
threats and to lessen possible risk.

 Any user of a computer must regularly do checks and hardens

the OS to resize the hacker’s attack.
 Background Story

We have received reports hackers trying to hack into our database

server trying to access our hardwork projects file and even our
company staff personal information. Thus for the safety of
everyone, we decided to implement new hardening measures to
help govern the security system of the company. Our main point is
to make sure our staff personal information, updating software that
are old and also clearing unnecessary things. With that I will move
on in sharing what's the 5 hardening measures that I have chosen.
 Top 5 Measures For OS Hardening
1) Disabling USB-Storage Driver
2) Install Malware Scanner Using Chkrootkit
3) Install apt-get-version
4) Install debsums
5) Install PowerDNS

more friendly way to handle packages.

Purpose
Its purpose is to control what
traffic is allowed to travel from Commands & After
one side to the other. Firewalls
can also block traffic intended
for particular IP addresses or
server ports.
