The functions stored in the units are adapted to the

specific application by means of parameters identified with
name and number. Many parameter also have an index.
The values can only be changed under certain conditions:

• The parameter must be a changeable parameter.

• Parameter access must be granted.
• The units must be in a status witch permits parameters
to be changed.
• The lock and key mechanism must not be activated

If the exact application condition of the unit is not known,
the parameter reset to the factory setting is suggested.
P051 = 21. Then the following procedure:

• Adjustment of converter • Selection of basic

rated currents. (P076) technological functions.
• Adjustment to actual • Execution of optimization
converter supply voltage runs.
(P078) • Checking and possible fine
• Access authorization (P051 adjustment of maximum
and P052) speed.
• Input of motor data (P100 • Manual post-optimization (if

C.17 DC Drives Enabling optional technology software

The technology option can only be utilized on SIMOREG DC
Master converters on which this option has been
enabled by a proper PIN number. The procedure to
activate it is:
1. Find out the serial number of your unit.
2. Find out the PIN number
3. Enter the PIN number in parameter U977.
4. Check this by the setting in n978

n978 = 0 The optional technology software is disabled

n978 = 1xxx The optional technology software is
temporarily enabled.
n978 = 2000 The optional technology software is enabled.

C.20 Parameter reset to factory setting
The factory setting is the defined initial state of all parameters of a
unit. The parameters for defining the power section and for releasing
the technology options and the operating hours counter and fault
memory are not changed by a parameter reset to factory setting.
PROCEDURE
Grant parameter access

Select “Fixed settings” menu
